ROCAL, France orders a GMF-Gouda steam peeling line to process red beetroots

The French company Rocal is renowned in the field of processing and supplying red beetroots. They offer a wide range of this vegetable: whole, diced, sliced or peeled beetroots, light or sweet pickled. In their complete production process, steam peeling of the beetroots plays a very substantial role.

Processing and peeling of red beetroots requires a special technique because of the vulnerability of these vegetables. The steam peeling system offered by GMF-Gouda is quite unique because of its interrupted condensate discharge during the process. The system is suitable to process all kind of vegetables and potatoes but is especially effective on these type of vulnerable vegetables like beetroots.

The GMF-Gouda's steam peeling system, in combination with almost 100 years of experience, convinced the customer to order the GMF-Gouda line that consists of :
  • electronic controlled collecting station
  • special transport system in the holding bunker
  • weighing system
  • peeler
  • brush 'n belt dry deskinner
  • after washer

After leaving the after washer, the beetroots are being transported further into the process line.

The complete electronic control of the new line, as well as the existing steam peeling line of Rocal, will be developed and installed by GMF-Gouda.

The control system includes a considerable number of parameters, enabling Rocal to trace a certain batch of beetroots and get information about volume, origin etc. etc., at any time during the process.
