Besides building new machines, GMF-Gouda also revises and upgrades existing machines.
Which machines?
All the machine brands of the GMF-Gouda Group, as well as machines from other suppliers can be revised and/or upgraded by GMF Gouda:
Gouda
Dietzel
Duprat
Escher Wyss
But also: machines from other suppliers
Why an revision?
It is a fact that a machine's original production capacity decreases during its life span. The degree to which this occurs depends on various factors, such as the product being processed on the machine and the manner in which the machine is treated/maintained.
A revision increases the capacity of a machine. In fact, in most cases it will recover the production capacity to it's original level.
Before revision
After revision
Other reasons for a revision are:
Continuity of the production process
Extension of the life span
Reduction of maintenance costs
In other words, the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) will improve:
In the case of drum dryers, there are concrete examples of machines of which the capacity was increased by more than 30%, with a "Return on Investment time" of less than 6 months.
Why an upgrade?
Machines are upgraded in order to bring them into compliance with the current requirements and standards in the fields of, e.g.:
Hygiene
Safety
Operating instructions
Product liability
etc.
An example of an upgrade is replacing all product contact components of a drum dryer for food applications with stainless steel components.
What is our method for revisions & upgrades:
An overall budget quotation, free of obligation, is presented prior to a revision and/or upgrade. The determination of this budget quotation is based on the revision work that the client feels is required by the machine.
The procedure is then as follows:
Extensive on-site inspection, recorded in a report
Detailed budget quotation, including:
Description of the revision work is divided into
- work to be conducted by GMF Gouda
- work to be conducted by the client
Description of whether work can be carried out on site or at GMF Gouda
Equipment and tools required for
- electrical parts
- mechanical parts
Description of the costs for items including
- engineer
- engineer's travel and accommodation costs
Order includes:
- detailed planning of the revision work
How can the revised status be maintained?
GMF Gouda offers the following (support) service in order to maintain the revised status of the machine as long as possible:
Training for operators and technical service
Regular visits by a GMF Gouda engineer (on individual or contract basis) for.:
inspection
(preventive) maintenance
Supply of information
Supply/replacement of parts
The creation of a complete maintenance scheme or assisting the creation of complete maintenance scheme
